Through Sørvestporten the first zone is the lightest and most open, so the step out feels like air. A soft border of 80 m runs to Sørmarka: the marram thins to nothing and barley starts as single plants; for 20 m both grow together. No buildings of either within 100 m of the border; a threshold marker where the way crosses, with a gold lantern facing the walker.
