Two thirds of the frame is moss green and teal; then rust red and pale green-gold light. Cyan is the glow: small mushrooms and the trolls' tarn. The first one or two colours take half to two thirds of a frame.

Transition in and out

Through Vestporten the way climbs into Gammelskogen, the old wood, whose heart is a threshold: two great trees and a stone gate. The soft border to Nordalen is shown in the rule-border image: birch meadow on one side, old forest on the other, a pale lake-stone marker and a dark forest-stone marker with one path through. From the wood's edge Alvestien starts the way up to Alvheim.
