Open questions for Petter

Each has a recommendation; the README is written as if the recommendation holds.

1. How strange are the elves?

  • A (recommended, the README): people with a few fixed marks: star-freckles, softly glowing irises, moon-white hair with a tint, small ears, tall bell outline. art/elves-lineup.webp, art/cast-*.webp.
  • B: spirits of moonlight: blue-grey skin, eyes without pupils, hair made of aurora. art/elves-alt-strange.webp.
  • C: today's picks: cute chibi elves in the inside style (a local file).

Recommendation: A. B's eyes are eerie for a young child and break the rulebook's "eyes visible and bright", and its loose hair cannot be meshed. C reads as Solengen's children in costume and erases the wall's distinction. If A feels too human in the game, raise one mark (bigger freckles, stronger tint in the hair) before going toward B.

2. How old is Eldrid?

The task says the queen today "reads as a silver granny". The line-up drew her ageless and young; the A-pose and the night scene drew her old, upright and beautiful (art/cast-eldrid.webp, art/key-5-eldrid-night.webp).

Recommendation: the old one. An old queen who is tall, straight and bright-eyed is rarer and kinder than a young one, and what failed in the stand-in was the borrowed granny body and her glasses; her age was fine.

3. Is Alvheim a third look, or the outside look at 0.6?

Recommendation: keep LOOK_PLACES 0.6 for the screen pass and write Alvheim into the rulebook as its own column (README rule 1): the outside brush, with its own shapes (lean, taper, curl; never angular or broken), base colours and glow rule. The family portfolio decides how a zone column is written.

4. Night as the hero time: should the game steer her there?

Night is where Alvheim is at its best, but she arrives when she arrives. Options: (a) nothing, (b) the place holds its own time (always dusk-to-night inside the arch), (c) a longer dusk and night inside the place grade's radius, (d) the errand's last step ("Hør, brønnen synger igjen") plays at night whatever the clock.

Recommendation: (a) for the clock, and fix day so it has its own look (README rule 6: a quiet, bright, sleeping village). Add (d) later as a small staged moment if wanted. (b) and (c) break the one sun and sky that tie the zones together.

5. Where does the moonstone gravel start?

Today the path is warm dirt up to Lyktestien. The README moves the change to Taubrua's west rim (half gravel on Hengestien, whole on Lyktestien), so the bridge is felt as a threshold. It means a ground bake change in tools/world/lib/colour.ts and a world rebuild.

Recommendation: do it; the bridge is the one place on the way where she stops anyway.

6. The way stones (new) on the way up

README rule 10 adds about six knee-high moonstone way stones with one rune each (Fjelltjernet, three on the shoulder, two on Hengestien) as the first signs of elves. They resemble the waystones she travels by (docs/waystones.md), which could confuse.

Recommendation: keep them clearly smaller (knee-high, 0.5 m, against the travel stones' height), with a crescent notch at the top and no interaction. If that is still too close, use the silver ribbon with a leaf on a birch as the sign and drop the stones.

7. The eight-petal rose

It is the most Norwegian motif here and also, abroad, a Christmas-jumper pattern (sources.md).

Recommendation: keep it, woven and flat, in each elf's glow colour on a dark band, never knitted, never red or white. If it still reads as Christmas in the game, swap the hem band for a row of birch leaves.

8. Who stands at the arch, and the new elves

tinde stands at Alveporten today. The task names a guard, an elder, a weaver and a child as roles; the game has Eldrid, Tinde, Vilja and Sildre.

Recommendation: keep the four ids as they are (references for all four are drawn), add the weaver at Veven and the elder at Tingringen first (both places stand empty of people today), then the child, then the guard. Move Tinde off the arch only when the guard exists. Names for the new four are Petter's and his daughter's to give.

9. Which model draws the elves that get meshed?

The same blocks give finer, more detailed figures on gpt-image-2.5 and bolder, flatter ones on Krea 2 turbo (art/cast-eldrid.webp against art/krea-eldrid.webp).

Recommendation: decide from the meshes (README rule 11, pending). The expectation is that Krea's bolder shapes mesh cleaner and sit better beside the other outside folk, and that gpt-image stays the tool for sheets, scenes and edits. Krea draws the ears long regardless; that needs a fix in the image before meshing.

10. Trees inside the ring

README rule 9 asks that every tree within 80 m of the well be a giant pale tree, which means replacing the ten ancient library trees and the dark stock trees around the square, and opening the crowns so day light reaches the ground.

Recommendation: yes; it is the largest single change to how the place reads, day and night (pale trunks against a dark sky are the night frame's structure). It belongs with the drawn-trees work in docs/trees.md: one new kind.
